"Telling you would ruin the surprise," Kili says, clicking in his tongue in mock admonishment, as if Tauriel should know far better than to think he would ever reveal his plans for what lies ahead this evening. "I can say that where we are going, there will very hopefully be no need for weapons unless we decide that we want to test each other."
He supposes it isn't out of the realm of possibility, their time together can be unpredictable; but that's one more thing that Kili loves about being with Tauriel. It aligns perfectly with what he tends to enjoy so much about life.
"I do hope you'll like our date," he says once they reach the ground floor, his voice softening as he looks up her with a sheepish expression. He squeezes her hand briefly in his before moving to hold open the front door. "I wanted it to be special, seeing as it's the first for both of us."
